Hello – I’m so happy you’re here!
I’m Matilde and for as long as I can remember, food has been my favorite way of showing care and love. To me, cooking isn’t just about putting ingredients together – it’s about creating moments of joy and togetherness. That’s what inspired me to start Better Eats with Mat: a space where I can share the meals I love and invite you to bring them into your own home.
Beyond the kitchen
I absolutely love traveling and discovering new flavors along the way – Greece will always have a special place in my heart (and my stomach). I’m passionate about meeting new people and connecting over food, but you can just as easily find me curled up with my dog on my lap, my boyfriend by my side, and a good book in hand (I’m a total romantasy fan!).
Long walks, yoga, and training are part of my daily rhythm, and I feel my best when I move my body. I’m also deeply curious about the science of food – especially the fascinating world of the microbiome and overall gut health – and I love learning how the things we eat can truly shape our well-being.

My dream is to create a space where healthy eating feels inspiring and enjoyable — a little corner of the internet where food always feels like a friend. In a world where ultra-processed foods dominate supermarket shelves, it’s my clear intention that every recipe here can be enjoyed without guilt. By focusing primarily on whole foods, I want you to savor each meal knowing it’s nourishing, wholesome, and made with care.
